Three Generations of Construction Expertise

The Original Founder

Earnest Ray Phillips began his construction career as a lead carpenter on the Peace River Bridge project during the Alaskan Highway construction in 1942. After returning to Warwick, NY, he founded RAYBORN Construction, a union carpentry company, in 1950. Ray also enhanced his expertise by completing estimating courses at Columbia University, strengthening his skills in project planning and cost management. The company continued until Ray’s passing in 1957.

The Second Generation: Harry Bradner Phillips

After leaving the Airforce, Harry Bradner Phillips, Earnest Ray's son, started his professional life as a union carpenter in Rockland County. His extensive tenure in the construction sector saw him take on various key roles, from foreman to general superintendent. He ultimately retired as a senior estimator and was credited with guiding the company's focus toward aviation programs.

The Third Generation-Rayborn Reborn: Mark Spencer Phillips

Harry Phillips' son, Mark Spencer Phillips, concentrated his own construction career primarily within the aviation sector beginning in 2005. In 2022, Mark resurrected the family name, opening the modern RAYBORN Construction. He has shaped the firm into a highly technical project management company, built upon a strong foundation of practical field solutions.
